How did we get here? 

We are a mother, daughter team that founded this company with vision and a passion for good hospitality and an attention to detail.  After spending years traveling with small children from hotel to cabin or Airbnb, we noticed the difference in how much more we enjoyed our travels when we arrived at a hotel that was well taken care of. We noticed the small details; clean counters, crystal clean drinking glasses, tightly cornered sheets with clean neatly folded blankets on top, vacuumed or mopped floors and yes, we always looked under the bed to see if they got that spot too (doesn’t everyone). We felt taken care of when we rented cabins, and the owner took the extra care to provide us with the good toilet paper instead of the cheap stuff that felt like tracing paper (we’ve all been there). If we were traveling for business and needed a nice, clean environment we hoped to encounter one where we could unlock the door, plop open our suitcase and get to work. There was nothing more refreshing than arriving at a distant destination where the whole building from the parking lot to the pool area to the concierge desk to the restaurant and wait staff were clean and tidy, organized and welcoming. After years of trial and error we realized there was a through line in all the places that really made us feel truly comfortable and able to focus in a home-away-from-home. It was the cleanliness that mattered! We felt safe, secure and at ease. We trusted that if they took this much care in the cleanliness of their establishment then we could trust they would much care about any other transactions that occurred between us (the client) and them (the owners). Cleanliness speaks so much more than someone here just cleaned. It speaks to the training of that person. It speaks to the belief that a house cleaner likes their job, they take pride in their job. Maybe their job is not just a job, and they feel valued in their organization. Maybe they are compensated generously because the establishment believes in taking care of their employees because when you do so, the employee in turn takes care of the owner’s business. A well cared for environment speaks monumental information about the individual cleaner and the higher up training of that individual. This is why I have valued them for so many years. After every welcoming, clean stay I would always leave a personal note and generous monetary tip thanking them for a peaceful stay and letting them know they matter and their work matters. The note would read something like, “I just want you to know that my family and I had a really nice, restful stay that was much needed and because our room was clean, we enjoyed it even more. Thank You!”  

Of course, I don’t think I would have appreciated the clean stays if it weren’t for the few times we stayed somewhere that turned out to be a nightmare. I remember a time when our kids were young, we made the strenuous trek to a faraway log cabin. When we arrived after hours of driving and feeling exhausted, we discovered that the cabin hadn’t been touched since the last person who stayed there. After phone calls and further investigation, we learned the cleaner quit that day and the owner had not realized in enough time to warn us. We were in trouble, faced with little options to change plans in a remote location with the bustling summer exploding around us and no other cabins available to house a combined family of 12, we conceded as a group to clean the cabin ourselves. We spent hours washing bedding, changing linens, washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms and taking out trash, sweeping and trying to remove any trace that a previous family had probably spent a wonderful time stepping into a turnkey vacation.  I will never forget how disappointing and stressful that weekend was for us. This is where our appreciation for a good housekeeping service was born. Having experienced the absolute worst, I now appreciate when a maid folds the end of my good quality toilet paper into a triangle if for no other reason than to let me know that she had touched that surface as well!
